SilverWood Originals

SilverWood Originals is a small independent press publishing non-fiction which shows strong commercial appeal – usually local interest titles or those with an identifiable niche market.

We currently publish several titles under this imprint:

Bristol Lives by former journalist and broadcaster Maurice Fells is available from many Bristol outlets including the M Shed, Foyles, Bristol City Museum, Waterstone's Union St, SS Great Britain, Blackwell's Park St and the Bristol Tourist Information Centre.

Carolyn Lewis's The Novel – A Perfect Recipe, a writers' guide book packed full of tips and useful advice for anyone working on their first novel. The book is in stock at Blackwell's Bookshop, Park Street, Bristol or can be ordered online here. Carolyn Lewis's second writers' guide book The Short Story – A Perfect Recipe is currently in production.

Tony Giles's inspirational Seeing the World My Way (a blind and deaf guy's global adventures) is available in paperback and as an e-book. This frank, no-holds-barred book follows Tony's thrill-seeking solo backpacking journeys across several continents. Tony says, "If you want it, and have a heart for it, anything can be achieved. I desired it so badly that I travelled around the world solo twice. And if I can do it, so can you".

Maggie Ashford's Memories of a PierMaster's Mistress is usually available on board the paddle steamer Waverley during sailing season, the Clevedon Pier Toll House shop, and in local outlets in the Clevedon and North Somerset area. Alternatively, you can purchase online in our bookshop.

The Abandoned Soldier: Reflections of War by Mark Christmas. This book supports The Abandoned Soldier Project, and you can read more about its dramatic launch at the National Memorial Arboretum in November 2010 here.
