Mining Memories Launch
Cumbrian poet Jenny Martin will launch her new book Mining Memories on the centenary of Cumbria's worst pit disaster, which took place at Wellington Pit on 11th May 1910.
The book launch will take place at The Beacon, Whitehaven, Cumbria CA28 7LY on Tuesday 11th May 2010 between 1pm and 3pm. Copies of Mining Memories will be on sale and Jenny plans to donate all profits to the Coalfield Regeneration Trust.
If you're local, please drop in to The Beacon to support Jenny, and also take a look at the exhibition about the Wellington pit disaster in the Harbour Gallery on the 1st Floor.
If you're not free for the book launch then you might like to know that Jenny has been invited to open the Wellington Pit Disaster exhibition at The Beacon on Saturday 8th May 2010 at 2.30pm.
