There was one rather unusual, funny little puffling. He was a very friendly little bird, and this made him one of the most popular birds on the island. But he was smaller than the other pufflings, and this made him unsure about what the others thought of him.
Have you ever seen a puffling? It’s unlikely, but it is possible. But have you ever seen a puffling that wore a kilt? Now that is very unlikely…
A rather unusual little puffling, who lives with his animal and bird friends on the magical island of Ornith, longs to be special and to stand out from the other pufflings on the island. But as the little puffing discovers, you can sometimes stand out for the wrong reasons.

This is a work of collaboration between father and daughter.
Richard Huband taught for fourteen years, mainly at the 8–13 year level, before he was ordained. He then served as a parish priest for twenty-five years. He is now retired, living in Dorset, and this is his first book.
His daughter Jo Gibb has largely worked as a trainer and facilitator both in international development and in the UK, supporting the growth of small businesses. She now lives in Edinburgh with her husband and young daughter.
The Kilted Puffling was inspired by a visit made together by Richard and Jo to the Isle of May, just off the East coast of Scotland.
