Public Lending Right (PLR) is the right for authors to receive payment under PLR legislation for the loans of their books by public libraries. If their book is eligible, authors can register for PLR by checking the 'three steps to registration' link at www.plr.uk.com. When an eligible book has been registered, payments are made annually on the basis of loans data collected from a sample of public libraries in the UK. The sample libraries change every year, and it's worth noting that if your book is not physically stocked in a sample library then you can't be included in the count (and therefore won't be eligible to receive PLR payments).
