Filled with in-depth knowledge and valuable lessons gleaned from working with managers who never make decisions, Grant Tait has written this light-hearted book, the first exclusively about these invisible toxic managers. They survive in all types of public and private organisations, even in top management, and one day you will be forced to work with one.
It is clearly ridiculous to want to become a no-decision manager, but in learning how, you will understand their behaviour and recognise the many tactics they use to avoid decision-making. It is inconceivable to become enlightened as a subordinate in any organisation, but by following the
book’s path to enlightenment, you will see how to deal with these managers and discover the choices you can make while working with them. Managing a team of no-decision managers is absurd, but you will learn how to detect them and even work effectively with them, if they are not fired by you on detection.
Grant Tait is a qualified chartered accountant with an MBA from INSEAD in France. His career included more than 25 years managing teams in Europe in multinational corporations whose headquarters were in USA, Italy, Switzerland and Japan. Throughout his career, he met and worked with managers that never make decisions.
Grant writes on LinkedIn and on his blog about these no-decision managers: www.nodecisionmanager.co.uk. He has also written humorous articles about life in these multinationals, anonymously or as Grant Petrie to protect his employment. They were published in various professional magazines such as Management Today, Personnel Journal and Management Accounting. He now lives in France.
