Notice of Ingram Print Price Increase for 2021

Published: 8 Jan 2021

Ingram Books have made modest changes to their Print On Demand (POD) book printing prices, effective March 1, 2021. This increase is the direct result of an increase in print and manufacturing costs within the print industry as a whole. We trust SilverWood authors will recognise that this situation is not of our making, and that we are not able to control third party pricing decisions.

Books are priced by the amount of paper they use therefore the changes affect POD books on an individual basis according to page count, the size of the book, the paper type, and whether the interior is black & white, standard colour, or premium colour.

How this might affect POD printing prices
Example 1
66-page standard-sized paperback with a black & white interior:
The print price for this book will increase by 1p per copy.

Example 2
240-page standard-sized paperback with a black & white interior:
The print price for this book will increase by 3p per copy.

Example 3
32-page large 216 x 216mm premium colour paperback picture book:
The print price for this book will increase by 4p per copy.

Example 4
192-page standard-sized PPC hardback with a black & white interior:
The print price for this book will increase by 7p per copy.

How will this affect you?
When you place book orders for delivery on or after 1 March 2021, you will see that your book printing price has changed. Your royalties will also change slightly depending on your print price and the trade discount being offered to wholesalers and retailers.

Do you need to do anything?
No, there is nothing you need to do. SilverWood will manage any changes. You will continue to receive the same type of royalty paperwork.
