Join us each month for our Writing Club

We launched our book writing club in December 2020 to encourage and support would-be authors. The club is hosted by SilverWood's Helen Hart and Debra Penrice, and renowned ghostwriter, Tom Henry. Designed to help you maintain momentum if you’ve started your next book , or write the one you’ve been thinking about, we have guest speakers every month, a private group on Facebook, and weekly live calls to answer your questions.
If you have an idea for a book or always wanted to write one, the writing club offers a membership group with training included. There is a monthly live Zoom tutorial where members will receive a masterclass from a guest expert, with a Q&A discussion to follow. There is also a private Facebook group for conversation and support, and a weekly motivation and discussion video call with Debra Penrice.
Debra says, "I’m delighted to be part of the writing club team at SilverWood and to be working with some brilliant literary professionals. Tom Henry is a prolific author, best known for ghostwriting the autobiography for snooker star, Stephen Hendry. Together, we’ve got an exciting list of expert guests lined up to inspire authors to complete their works."
In spite of the pandemic, the number of new publications for SilverWood Books remained buoyant in 2020, with that set to continue in 2021. People remain enthusiastic about writing and self-publishing their stories. Publishing Director Helen Hart says, "During the first British lockdown, we saw plenty of evidence that reading was increasing, as people had more time for their leisure pursuits. And now with the UK launch of online book seller, bookshop.org, it’s an exciting time for our debut authors. There are plenty of opportunities to promote their books online, even though local events are on pause."
SilverWood Book Writing Club events can be purchased individually via
