Book Orders Facing Potential Delays

Published: 5 Nov 2021  - updated: 9 Dec 2021

The pre-Christmas book trade buzz is well underway! Autumn is traditionally a busy time for book printers. This year is no different, but national and international supply chain and logistics challenges are adding to potentially-longer delivery times.

Our book printers have let us know that the book industry, like all physical goods industries, is experiencing some delays in paper supply, alongside disruption in shipping and a shortage of HGV drivers. This is having an impact on costs as well as extending lead times for the fulfilment of book orders.

We're doing what we can at SilverWood to keep our authors aware via our regular enewsletters and mailshots. If you haven't already signed up to receive those, please visit this link. Existing subscribers can also update their details on that page.

The last date for placing a book order for guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery has now passed. However, we are hopeful that orders placed now will still be with you in November and December, even if that can't be guaranteed. If you'd like to place an order for books then SilverWood authors should contact us in the usual way. Customers and readers can order as usual via our online bookshop.

“If you’re thinking of self-publishing, I hope you don't go at it alone. With a team like SilverWood behind you, you have the support you need to publish the best work you believe in.”
