"To enjoy for Valentine's Day.... Intriguing from the first page."
Annette Shaw, Devon Life magazine
"This is a wonderful novel, beautifully written, that threads its way through the lives and loves of its characters who step vividly out of the pages. A delight to read.”
The Rt Hon Lord Smith of Finsbury (Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge)
"R.N.F. Skinner, known chiefly to his readers as a poet, has written a stunning first novel. Don't look here for the fate of presidents and kings or dramatic scenes of heroic endeavour. Skinner tells of people not unlike us leading lives not unlike our own. Suffice to say, Still Crazy... is beautifully written, has characters that endear themselves to us, is a good story and gives us the occasional moment of wisdom. From a novel, what more is there to ask?"

Still Crazy is a very enjoyable book focusing on the lives of two main characters, Melanie and Phil. The story moves backwards and forwards across a number of decades alternately between Melanie and Phil’s side of the story. It tells of how they met at Cambridge University and what happened to them personally over a number of years. The book is extremely well written and the characters are very likeable. It is interesting to watch them mature over the years and how their perspective on life changes. At some points, it reminded me of the Sliding Doors film as they both do a lot of reflecting on how their lives would have turned out if they’d made different decisions. Having said this, there are a lot of funny moments in this book and I was laughing out loud a few times. It really was a fantastic read and I hope that the author writes some more books as I would absolutely love to read them!

Still Crazy by R.N.F. Skinner is a wonderful heart warming read which really relates to most people's lives. A story of unrequited love, life at university and how perspectives on life change over time.
Still Crazy by R.N.F. Skinner is a lovely novel based on the relationship of two main characters Melanie and Phil who meet at Cambridge University. The story follows them over several decades as their lives separate and then become entwined again having faced various difficulties along the way. The characters are 'real' in the sense that you believe in them and the choices they make can make you groan out loud or sympathise. There are a lot of laughs contained within these pages, with Phil and his acting alongside his old mates from university. Melanie has some laugh out loud moments too. I found myself willing the two main characters to get together in the end, and then at the end wanted more! A great debut novel by this author, I hope there will be more!
